I never had the math skills when I was in school to pursue a higher education in one of my favorite sciences, Astronomy. I struggled through high school algebra - calculus would have killed me.
But the movement of celestial bodies has always facinated me. Especially when those movements readily visible to the naked eye occur. Like the solar eclipse that happened yesterday over Asia. We in North America could not witness this rare event. Fortunately, lots of people who did witness it had digital cameras and snapped some very beautiful images.
My personal favorite image is this one. The brown and sepia tones of the clouds obscuring the crecent of the sun just visible behind the moon yields an image that is dark yet warm to me.
